Strange Adventures #79 (1957) - DC Comics

Evil Snowmen from Outer Spaaaaace!
How can you not laugh out loud at that. Perhaps this comic served to inspire some of Calvin’s nightmare creatons? Love the ironic exposition.
Given the placement and zig-zag tail of the word balloon, I like to think that the snowmen are really the fearsome battle robots of tiny aliens sitting in the ratty top hats. Twist ending: The snowmen melt as soon as they hit the US border (because Canada is always sub-zero) leaving the tiny invaders to be eaten by a passing seagull.
